Things got even more exciting after the widow…

Did you see the news about all the storms in Oklahoma Saturday night? Well it was all around us. We went into a severe weather alert and then a tornado watch. I went to bed in fear of golf ball size hail and what to do in an RV if we actually did have a twister touch down. Over the emergency broadcast radio they were calling out mile markers, telling residents to take cover, the mile marker we exited was on that list. It was scary. I went to bed worrying about our safety and about my husband wanting to kill me in the morning if his Jeep got dented by hail.

Last night we stayed in a really cute RV park off of I-45/route 78 in Tupelo, Mississippi, Campground at Barnes Crossing. It was like being in the jungle this morning, listening to the birds and being surrounded by greenery. There was a little road noise from the highway, but the other sounds pretty much drown it out. The place didn’t have the best reviews, but I actually thought it was really nice and so did the hubby. If he thought it was ok, then that is saying a lot. There was a lot of shopping there and places to eat, it was a place we could have stayed a couple of days. Really nice area, very clean and pretty

I have mentioned several times that it is hard to find nice RV Parks out in this area. I was searching the internet over and over looking for a decent place that wasn’t a grass field near Talladega. Finally I came across a website that mentioned an RV dealership with a KOA with full hook-ups, so that is where we are headed now. We are three hours out of Talladega, right now in a cone zone getting the crap beat out of our RV with rough road, everything squeaking, but we are three hours away. We really wanted a day for down time after driving ten, eleven, eight-hour day for the last three days. However we just couldn’t find a decent RV Park in Talladega and I have been looking for months. Finally came across one last night and we are in good shape. I can do laundry, hit Wal-Mart and all that fun stuff.

We will check in later….Cioa for now!

Oh yes in case you are even on a game show, Tupelo, MS is the birthplace of Elvis Presley.
